Oranessence | Habanero Chilli Pepper
The habanero is of Caribbean origin, but it is cultivated in Mexico. It is one of the spiciest in the world and also one of the most famous. It is worth knowing for its captivating flavour, which extends beyond its volcanic spiciness.
Usage: It is best used dried in dishes that will allow it to rehydrate gradually: stews, sauces, soups, oils... We recommend using an infuser (e.g., tea ball) to prevent the chilli from getting lost in the preparation. To remove it at the right time, taste your dish regularly. For a milder spiciness, add it in the last 15 minutes of cooking. Conversely, if you want to enjoy its full strength, you can add it from the beginning. Ideally, dose by a quarter of the chilli until you achieve the desired strength.
A CHILLI PEPPER IS NOT JUST FOR SPICY HEAT!
Regardless of its heat, each chilli pepper has a distinct flavour profile. If you can adjust its heat to suit your own taste, you can discover the vast array of flavours contained within this natural treasure.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The sensation of hotness depends on each person's sensitivity. Therefore, it isn't easy to rely on the Scoville scale. Also, a chilli pepper will have a different heat from one plantation to another, depending on the soil that nourished it, but also from one seed to another, even if it is picked from the same branch.
